Gateshead Dance Festival 2023

On Wednesday 29th March, a group of pupils from Year 2 and Year 5 performed in the Gateshead School Sport Partnership 2023 Dance Festival. The event was staged at the prestigious venue, the Gateshead Sage.
 
During weekly rehearsals, the children put in a great deal of effort to prepare for the event. Many thanks to Sara Morris, who we recruited in Miss Rochester’s absence. Sara created a wonderful choreography to a selection of music from the movie Moana. The children have thoroughly enjoyed working with Sara.
 
It is quite daunting performing on a stage in front of an extensive audience, but that did not phase our little ones. They braved (Courage was the theme of the event) the stage, giving a splendid performance that was awarded with well-deserved rapturous applause. It is always lovely to have the children participate in events with schools from across the local authority. The standard of performance from all the schools who took part in the festival was excellent.
