Blaydon and District Girls 7-A-Side
On Thursday 19th May it was the Blaydon and District girls 7 a-side tournament. Whist the squad had already played two 5-a-side tournaments, for many of them, this was the first time they had ever played in a 7-a-side tournament. The girls came up against four teams; Ryton, Highfield, Crookhill and Winlaton and they were absolutely fantastic. Playing against teams from Year 6/5 the Emmaville Year 5/4 team matched them all in terms of quality, effort, commitment and team play – they were superb. Emmaville won their game against Highfield 1-0 with a great goal from Lily. The other games needed with narrow 1-0 losses but Emmaville most definitely deserved more from them.
A congratulations must go to Crookhill who were the winners of the tournament.
We were over the moon with the team, their quality or play, their determination and fight, the enthusiasm, and their mazing attitude.
