On Thursday it was the continuation (Round 2) of the Blaydon and District West 7-aside League. After the first round, Emmaville were sitting in a strong position of second.
On the night, all games were very tight and goals were at a premium (only four goals were scored in total).
Emmaville played four games against Ryton, Crookhill, Stella and St Agnes, coming out with three draws and one loss. There was a good effort from all the players, some excellent last ditch defending and a few fantastic saves from our goalkeeper. As the games progressed, the standard of play got better, but, the final quality pass and clinical finishing in front of goal were missing.
After round two, Emmaville are currently in fourth position – only 3 point off first – and there is still everything to play for in round three. An exciting final round awaits where every game and goal are important.
