Emmaville's Fantastic Footballers

27th September 2024

Our Year 5 girl footballers had a brilliant afternoon of competition playing in the GSSP Gateshead Girls United 5-aside tournament. We had two teams, each with a squad of eight enthusiastic players, and they all put in super performances. Every one of them was committed and determined, and over the course of their five games they showed their skills. They improved with every game and came away from the tournament proud of themselves and full of even more enthusiasm for future football. On top of that, a number of our players were selected by other teams for values badges to highlight those that they were showing. Well done Emmaville girls!
The Emmaville Boys Team got off to a grand start on Thursday 19th September when they participated in their first tournament of the season. During the tournament, they played 3 games, winning 1-0 against Clover Hill School, 1-0 against St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas, and drew in their third game against Winlaton West Lane.

The boys worked well together as a team, playing with passion and determination, and most importantly showing respect at all times to one another and to their opposition. Mr Robinson and Mr Harrison commented upon their positive attitude and how they listened carefully to each other and to them. The boys were saying on the journey up to Winlaton that they hoped at the end of the day they would be saying to one another, ‘Jolly Well Done’; they certainly were able to do that!

The boys have now progressed into the next round which takes place on Thursday 26th September at Ryton Junior School.  They have a great season to look forward to.
