Week Ending Friday 22nd May 2026
What a busy week!!
This week we have been reading the traditional tale "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."
We have really enjoyed reading the story and using the story sack puppets to bring the story to life.
We have also been looking at size and like in the story, we have sorted objects from biggest to smallest.
Finally, we made some porridge for Goldilocks that was "just right." Obviously we had to taste it ourselves to make sure. We really enjoyed it!
Happy half term everyone. We look forward to seeing you all when we get back!
Week Ending Friday 22nd May 2026 - Purple Poppies
We've had a lovely week in the Purple Poppies this week!
We focused on the book "Mouse Paint." We looked at mixing colours to make new colours, we made marks in glitter and even painted the school fence.
Have a wonderful half term break. We look forward to seeing you all when we get back.
Purple Poppies
The Poppies have enjoyed getting 'all aboard!' this week as their book of the week was Where's Mr Plane?
They have also enjoyed time in the forest, especially using the big bubble wand to make some huge bubbles that were bigger than them!
The children were excited to receive a letter from the forest fairies and made them a present of some delicious biscuits.

This week in nursery we also had some special visitors...
On Monday nursery received a letter from the flower fairies. They had decided to move into our forest and we then spent the rest of the week being very busy: we have been making things for them, building them new houses, making them biscuits, writing and drawing them special messages in little notebooks, planting them new flowers and making them new magic wands.
Week Ending Friday 8th May 2026 - Purple Poppies
This week the Purple Poppies have been reading the story "Is it warm enough for Ice Cream?"
We've had lots of fun with this, including adding sprinkles to our play dough, painting with ice paint brushes and ended to week by making ice cream with fresh Strawberries and Banana. Luckily for us, "it was warm enough for Ice Cream."

This week we have been learning the poem "I have a Little Frog." Alongside this, we were very excited to welcome our Tadpoles into Nursery. We have been looking at the life cycle of a Frog and the children were able to see the changes from Frog Spawn to Tadpole. They are looking forward to seeing the changes that will occur.
Week Ending Friday 1st May 2026
This week the children discovered some very intriguing eggs. After much discussion, we came to the conclusion that they might be dinosaur eggs. We spent the rest of the week finding out more about different types of dinosuars and looking very carefully after our eggs until they hatched.

Welcome back Nursery!!
It was lovely to welcome the children back after the Easter Holiday. We have also been super lucky to welcome some new friends to our Nursery this week. The children have all settled in very well.
This week we were excited to see what had happened to our Caterpillars over the holidays. We could see that some were still in their cocoons but some had hatched into beautiful Butterflies.
